The Carry Conceal Weapon (CCW) Unit processes all permit requests and maintains those records.
All applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). We can not ensure processing for those arriving after 3:00 p.m.
Applicants must provide the following at the time of processing:
1. Current proof of Jackson County, Missouri, residency. Accepted proof includes a valid Missouri Driver’s License, a non-driver’s license identification or a military identification and orders showing the person being stationed in Missouri.
2. A copy of the Certificate of Firearms Safety Training Course. The course instructor will provide this form.
3. A personal check or money order payable to the Missouri State Highway Patrol in the amount of $30.50.
4. A personal check or money order payable to the Jackson County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office in the amount of $66.75.
All applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis from 8:30 to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). We can not ensure processing for those arriving after 3:00 p.m.
Applicants must provide the following at the time of processing:
1. Current proof of Jackson County, Missouri, residency. Accepted proof includes a valid Missouri Driver’s License, a non-driver’s license identification or a military identification and orders showing the person being stationed in Missouri.
2. A personal check or money order payable to the Jackson County, Missouri Sheriff’s Office in the amount of $50.00.
A brief background check will be performed, a new application will be filled out, and if everything is OK, then the renewal will be issued that day.
There is a $10.00 penalty fee assessed for each month the endorsement is not renewed, up to six months. After six months, the endorsement is invalid and the holder must begin the process over again.
All processing fees are non-refundable. No cash or credit cards will be accepted. Those individuals not providing all of the required documents will be denied from processing.
The CCW Endorsement and the CCW Renewal are valid for three (3) years each.
