The order of the proposal information is described differently in the Instructions to Applicants (p. 3) than it is in the Table of Contents (p.12). Which order should I use?
Because of this discrepancy, no proposal will lose points for order of Letter of Transmittal, Title/Signature Page and Table of Contents. All other sections should be presented in the suggested order.

Will any renovation be done on the Ground Floor Level of the Annex?
Renovations to the Ground Floor Level are not anticipated with this project.
If a space on the Concept plans provided is not marked "non-jury" is it assumed that it will need a jury room?
The concept drawings provided should be used as a starting point. It is expected that the layout and use of space will evolve as the design project progresses.

Which Architect did the design for the exterior building repairs of the Historic Courthouse?
Two sets of plans are available for review at 303 West Walnut, Independence, MO from the 2003 exterior restoration work:

As part of pre-design service the county indicates that site investigation will include an environmental site assessment of areas to be remodeled. Will this portion of the projects require inclusion of an environmental specialist on our team?
Having a qualified Environmental Specialist on your team would be advantageous.
Page 17 of the RFP states that our project narrative may include a statement as to the adequacy of the funds listed for the projects. Can you please tell us what the budgets are for each of the two projects?
This line should have been omitted from the RFP. The budget for these two projects has not been defined.
Will the Historic Truman Courthouse be retrofitted for air conditioning?
It is probable that Truman Courthouse will be retrofitted for air conditioning, however, the final scope of design for the Truman Courthouse has not been established at this time.
Will there be and MBE/DBE/WBE requirement for these projects?
There is no MBE/DBE/WBE requirement for this Contract.

Is it possible to get a tour of the buildings if we did not make the tour?

Does the Boiler in the original Annex building also serve the 1970 addition?
How is the Annex currently cooled?
The original building is cooled by a cooling tower on the roof with 4 air handlers on the first floor and 4 more on the second floor. The 1970 addition is cooled by a chiller/condensing unit on the roof.
Does the County have structural calculations for the 1970 Addition?
We do not have calculations that we are aware of. However, the design was done by Keene & Simpson & Murphy-Moreley & Geraughty Architects and Planners in 1970. Burgess, Latimer & Miller did the mechanical and electrical. Jack D. Gillum & Associates did the Structural. The as-builts are available for review by appointment at Jackson County Public Works, 303 W. Walnut, Independence (816-401-4948).
