Blue Springs Announces...
New Regional Science and Technology Park Development

The Eastern Jackson County community of Blue Springs is to be the home of a new 500-acre science and technology innovation park. Following a news conference announcing the Missouri Innovation Park at Blue Springs , Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders congratulated the Blue Springs Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and the City of Blue Springs for bringing the project to their community and to Jackson County.

The project is expected be a focal point for technology-based innovation and commercialization in Western Missouri. The University of Missouri is a long-term partner in this development, which will result in significant job opportunities throughout Blue Springs and the entire region. MU is going to be the anchor research tenant through the establishment of the "Mizzou Innovation Center".

County Executive Sanders commended the efforts of Blue Springs Mayor Carson Ross, Blue Springs EDC President Brien Starner and MU Chancellor Brady Deaton in making the Missouri Innovation Park at Blue Springs a reality. The park is expected to have an economic development impact throughout Jackson County and the entire region.
