Be a part of history!

Add your name to the holiday banner that will be enclosed in the Truman Courthouse Time Capsule for 80 years. In honor of the rededication of the Historic Jackson County Truman Courthouse, a time capsule is being assembled that will capture Jackson County life in the year 2013. One of the items will be a card signed by visitors to the historic courthouse.

The banner will be in the lobby of the Truman Courthouse, located at 112 Lexington in Independence, Missouri, beginning Monday, December 9.  Visitors are invited to sign their names or send a message to the future. The banner will be available for signing during normal working hours, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The capsule is slated to be opened in September of 2093.
