|The Jackson County Health Department provides a variety of medical services (including a free clinic ) and health education/training programs to assist in the prevention of illnesses and communicable diseases.
The County Health Department offers a wide array of services and programs, including immunizations; Well Child Check-ups; Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program; and Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic.

Missouri Birth and Death Certificates can also be obtained through the Jackson County Health Department. Birth Certificates are available for those born in Missouri in 1920 or later, while death certificates are available for those who have died in Missouri in 1980 or later. Adults with chronic diseases are seen at the Truman Forest Building, Suite 302, in Independence. Volunteer physicians staff the clinics.
Patients are seen by appointment only. To qualify for the clinic, you must be a Jackson County resident who has no health insurance.
The free clinics are sponsored by the Truman Heartland Foundation and other local agencies.
