E-Recording

In June of 2006, counties in Missouri agreed to create a portal that would allow the electronic filing of documents throughout Missouri. Currently, well over a dozen counties in Missouri are accepting documents for filing in an electronic manner via this portal, which allows anyone interested in E-Recording to go to one Web site to submit their documents for electronic recording, rather than visiting an individual site for each county.

Jackson County was one of those counties that initiated electronic recording and currently over 40 percent of the documents recorded in Jackson County come in via electronic filing through the portal. Banks, title companies, law firms, utility companies and a number of other organizations submit their documents to Jackson County via electronic filing.
