Anyone who has paid Jackson County personal or real estate property taxes may get a duplicate tax receipt.

2. How much is a duplicate receipt?

You may obtain a duplicate of your original property tax receipt FOR FREE online. Just CLICK HERE .

OR you may obtain a duplicate of your original property tax receipt from our offices.  There is a one-dollar fee ($1.00) for each duplicate receipt.

3. Why do I need a personal property tax receipt?

To register your vehicle or renew your license plates, you must present your paid county personal property tax receipt to the Department of Revenue license office.  If you are seeking to renew your vehicle tags for a two year period, you will need to present paid receipts for the prior two tax years.

4. Why do I need a real estate property tax receipt?

You may need proof that your real estate taxes are paid for the purpose of filing income tax returns or seeking possible Missouri Homestead or Missouri Senior Citizen Tax rebates and or credits.

5. Can the Department of Revenue find out if my taxes were paid without a receipt?

The Collections Department provides monthly updated records of paid personal property tax information to the Missouri Department of Revenue; however, Missouri law still requires the taxpayer take his or her personal property receipts with him or her to the Department of Revenue license office when registering or renewing a vehicle registration.
