An exhilarating fireworks show put the exclamation point at the end of Jackson County's Fourth of July Appreciation Celebration.
Jackson County residents made bringing Major League Baseball’s 2012 All-Star Game to Kansas City possible through supporting renovations to Kauffman Stadium. This Appreciation Celebration was the county's way of saying, “THANK YOU!”
The evening featured a high-flying demonstration by the Skydive Kansas City Exhibition Team, festival foods, live music by the David Basse Orchestra, a salute to veterans and then the biggest every fireworks finale in Jackson County.
Admission to the event was free.
As part of the celebration, Jackson County also sponsored a two-day All-Star youth baseball tournament. CLICK HERE to discover which teams walked away with the first- and second-place prizes, as well as the sportsmanship trophies.
