Members For Its Ethics Commission

PURPOSE

To receive complaints and investigate alleged violations of the conflicts of interest, financial interest disclosure, and lobbying registration and disclosure provisions of the County and State of Missouri.

COMPOSITION

  • The Ethics Commission Selection Board* appoints this five-member commission.
  • The Selection Board is a three-member board established by the Jackson County Charter.
  • No more than three commissioners must be from the same political party.
  • Commissioners must not hold any other elective or full-time appointed public office.
  • They must not hold any other County office or serve on another County board or commission.
  • A commissioner must not be an elected or appointed member or local, state or national political party committee.
  • A commissioner must not be a member of any partisian or nonpartisian political club or organization that promotes candidates or issues.
