JULY 6, 2011 -- Officials from Jackson County and Kansas City joined members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 124 (IBEW 124) to observe the raising of a 90-foot wind turbine on the IBEW 124 Union Hall grounds last Friday, July 1. The wind turbine, one of the first commercial wind turbines to be erected in the Greater Kansas City region, will provide approximately 400 kilowatt hours of energy per month. Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders praised IBEW's commitment to "green energy" innovation.
