The County Executive has been a proponent of a regional detention center for several years. Before being elected County Executive in 2006 Sanders served as Jackson County Prosecutor and saw firsthand the need for a centralized regional facility.
Jolly, a former assistant Jackson County Prosecutor, has taken a lead role on behalf of Kansas City to move forward with plans for a centralized regional facility.
