Jackson County to Hold
Veterans Job Fair
July 31, 2013 (KANSAS CITY, MO) – In order to assist those individuals who have served our nation in the Armed Forces, Jackson County will be hosting a job fair for local veterans on Thursday, August 1.
The job fair will take place between 9:00 AM-1:00 PM on the 2nd floor of the Jackson County Courthouse in downtown Kansas City (415 East 12th Street, Kansas City, Missouri).
The county has partnered with the Missouri Career Center to connect veterans with various job openings in local and state government. Those offering career opportunities and information at Thursday’s event include:
- Jackson County, Missouri
- 16th Judicial Circuit Court
- City of Kansas City
- City of Grandview
- City of Independence
- Kansas City Area Transportation Authority
- State of Missouri Department of Corrections
- Citadel Federal Solutions
- First Call
“The transition from the battlefield presents a variety of challenges for our veterans who too often struggle to find an honest day’s pay,” said Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders. “Because of the sacrifices these individuals have made for our nation, offering them the opportunity to support themselves and their families is the least we can do.”
Veterans who are interested in getting more information on the job fair can contact Evelyn Floyd at 816-437-3635 -- X2105.
