Jackson County Assessment Department to Offer
Extended Phone Hours for Property Owners

June 20, 2013 (KANSAS CITY, MO) – Beginning Monday, June 24, the Jackson County Assessment Department will extend the hours of its phone bank where county property owners can call to file an informal appeal of their 2013 real estate property values.

From June 24 until July 22, the Assessment Department’s Phone Bank will operate from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Mondays through Thursdays. On Friday’s, the phone bank will operate during its normal hours of 8:00 A.M.-5:00 PM. 

As a reminder, the deadline for county property owners to file an informal appeal has been extended to Monday, July 22. Property owners can file an informal appeal by calling 816-881-4601 or on-line at www.jacksongov.org/appeal.  

Additionally, the deadline to file an appeal with the Jackson County Board of Equalization (BOE) has also been extended. The new deadline to file an appeal with the BOE is Monday, July 29. Property owners can get more information by calling 816-881-3309.
