COMBAT to Announce New Anti-Violence
Efforts in the Community

February 13, 2013 (KANSAS CITY, MO) – Beginning this Friday, the Jackson County Community Backed Anti-Drug Tax (COMBAT) will launch a highly visible campaign that will focus on curbing violent crime throughout the community. 

To announce the details of COMBAT’s latest anti-violence efforts, Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders will hold a joint press conference with COMBAT staff, community leaders and local law enforcement officials, including Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker, Jackson County Sheriff Mike Sharp, and Kansas City, Missouri Police Chief Darryl Forte.

The press conference will take place on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. It will be held at Whatsoever Community Center (1201 Ewing Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64126).

Following the press conference, Sanders and other local leaders will join COMBAT staff, COMBAT Agencies and neighbors to walk through designated neighborhoods and distribute information and yard signs in support of the campaign.
