County Courthouses to Display
Flags in Honor of Memorial Day

May 24, 2012 (KANSAS CITY, MO) – In remembrance of those who have died serving our country in the armed forces, Jackson County will adorn the front of the county courthouse in downtown Kansas City, Missouri with a multitude of American flags beginning Friday, May 25, 2012. Additional flags will be erected at the county courthouse annex in Independence, Missouri.

“This weekend is a time to remember all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” said County Executive Mike Sanders. “All of us should take some time to appreciate and honor the fallen as well as our veterans and those in our military who are still defending America all across the globe.”

The flags will be displayed at both courthouses throughout the holiday weekend, beginning Friday morning.
