Advisory Committee Announces Interview
Schedule for Prosecuting Attorney Appointment
April 20, 2011 (KANSAS CITY, MO) – James Nunnelly, Chairman of the advisory nominating committee named by Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders to help appoint a new County Prosecutor, has announced that the committee will begin interviewing applicants on Thursday, April 21. Interviews will also take place on Monday, April 25 and Wednesday, April 27.
All interview sessions will begin at 5:30 P.M. and take place at the offices of the Mid-America Regional Council (600 Broadway, Kansas City, Missouri).
The advisory committee will conduct all candidate interviews publicly. Notices will be posted in advance of these interviews on the Jackson County website at www.jacksongov.org. Following the interviews, the committee will forward three applicants to the County Executive who will then make the appointment, subject to disapproval by the County Legislature.
The appointee will fulfill the term of current Prosecutor James F. Kanatzar who was recently named to the 16th Judicial Circuit bench by Missouri Governor Jay Nixon.
