Jackson County Executive
to tour “Last Will” set

November 13, 2008 (KANSAS CITY, MO) – Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders will tour the set of the film “Last Will” Friday morning.  This major motion picture directed by Missouri native Brent Huff is being shot at several locations throughout the Kansas City area.  Some of Friday’s shooting will take place at the historic Jackson County Truman Courthouse (112 West Lexington Avenue Independence, Missouri 64050).

County Executive Sanders will lead a media tour through the Courthouse starting at 10:00 a.m. and will briefly meet with members of the cast and crew to officially welcome them to Jackson County.

Director Brent Huff is a native of Springfield and a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia.  He has described “Last Will” as “a legal thriller.”  The movie stars Tatum O’Neal, Tom Berenger, Armand Assante and James Brolin.  Recent changes to Missouri’s Film Tax Credit program have made Missouri more competitive in the film industry, particularly as it pertains to out-of-state cast and crew.

The Jackson County Truman Courthouse on the Independence Square houses President Truman’s original office and courtroom from his tenure as Jackson County Presiding Judge (1927 – 1934); the Brady Courtroom and the Jackson County Historical Society office and archives.
