County Executive names
Chief Administrative Officer

February 26, 2007 (KANSAS CITY, MO) – Fred Siems, retired city administrator of Blue Springs, Missouri, and most recently Acting Chief Administrative Officer of Jackson County, has accepted the position of Chief Administrative Officer of Jackson County.

County Executive Mike Sanders is elated that Mr. Siems, with 40 years of experience, is joining his administration on a permanent basis. “Fred Siems exceeds the requirements we had planned to place in a national recruitment ad. He is a known professional administrator and has performed admirably in helping us put together a 2007 county budget during these financially difficult times. Because Fred is familiar with Jackson County, we’ll have no break in the work already begun to improve county operations and to find cost savings in helping us with next year’s budget.”

Advertisements for the national recruitment of a Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and three department directors will be placed soon. The goal is to have those positions filled within about 90 days.
