Ethics Task Force Members

March 13, 2007 (KANSAS CITY, MO) – William G. Eckhardt, Teaching Professor of Law and Director of Urban Affairs Outreach at University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, has agreed to be the Chairman of the Ethics Task Force.

County Executive Mike Sanders is a longtime admirer of Mr. Eckhardt and the work he has done throughout his career. “Bill Eckhardt has spent his life demonstrating the highest ethical standards and has served his country and his community well. We really look forward to his chairing the Ethics Task Force and the service that he’ll provide for Jackson County.”

Mr. Eckhardt retired as a Colonel after 30 distinguished years of military service and has since been with UMKC, first as a visiting Associate Professor of Law and most recently as Teaching Professor of Law. The Ethics Task Force is being asked to develop rules of conduct that strengthen the current code of ethics for Jackson County officials and employees.

Also serving on the Jackson County Ethics Task Force are: Carol Grimaldi, Executive Director of Brush Creek Community Partners; Dr. Henry C. Johnson, Co-founder of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership; Rochelle Neal, Deputy Director of Human Resources for Jackson County; Patrick A. McInerney, Law Partner at Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin; Jackson County Sheriff Tom Phillips; Robin E. Ryan, Research Data Management Supervisor at Children’s Mercy Hospital; Rick Scaletty, a trial attorney and president of the Eastern Jackson County Bar Association; and Rhonda Shoemaker, a former Jackson County Legislator.

As announced at the legislative meeting on Monday March 12 the first meeting of this Ethics Task Force will be Thursday, March 15, 2007 at 4:00 PM.
