Jackson County Assessment Review
Commission to Hold Public Hearing
June 16, 2008 (KANSAS CITY, MO) – Citizens and property owners in Jackson County are invited and encouraged to attend the final public hearing of the Jackson County Assessment Review Commission Tuesday, June 17 at 6:00 p.m. The one-hour hearing will be held at the Truman Memorial Building, 416 West Maple in Independence, Missouri.
Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders will introduce the members of the Assessment Review Commission. Mr. Sanders appointed the bipartisan seven member citizens Review Commission in January in response to concerns about the assessment and appraisal process in the County. The purpose of this hearing is to allow Commission members to hear directly from Jackson County tax payers and to enable the Commission members to make more informed and appropriate recommendations to the County Executive in their final report later this year.
Individuals who are unable to attend the meeting are able to send comments by going to www.jacksongov.org and clicking on the assessment banner on the right side of the page.
