GENERAL INFORMATION
The Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department utilizes the United States Sports Specialty Association (U.S.S.S.A.) to govern the rules of play. A rulebook ( U.S.S.S.A.) will be distributed to each team at the time of sign-in. All teams must use OPTIC YELLOW softballs stamped with the U.S.S.S.A. logo, they will be blue stitched, mid-range balls, and teams will hit their own softballs. Official softballs will be available for purchase at the Administration Annex, and throughout the season at the Frank White, Jr. Softball Complex and 140th & Holmes Softball Complex. Coed leagues will use both the 11” and 12” ball for play. U.S.S.S.A. umpires will officiate all games utilizing the one-man system.

SCHEDULES & SIGN-IN
All team managers or designated team representatives are required to sign-in for their team and pick up all pertinent information, including team schedules on TUESDAY, August 26 between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at the Administration Annex located at 22101 Woods Chapel Road, Blue Springs, Missouri. If a team manager or team representative cannot attend, other arrangements must be made by calling the League Administrator at (816) 503-4878. All teams are responsible for picking up their schedule prior to the start of league play. 

U.S.S.S.A. INFORMATION
All teams playing in any Jackson County Parks and Recreation Softball League or Tournament are required to be U.S.S.S.A. sanctioned. An annual fee of $20.00 per year is required to receive sanctioning; however a team playing in more than one season may need to repay the fee if (a) the team changes any part of the team name, or (b) the team changes managers.
