Where do I buy a boat and motor permit? The JCP&R Registration Office at 22807 Woods Chapel Road and/or at the Longview Lake Marina. What information do I need to obtain a permit? (1) Proof of ownership on each boat(s) and motor(s); watercraft and/or motor titles or a validated "Application for Title" (pink slip) or "certificate of number," which are not required to be registered with the State of Missouri. (2) A current certificate of number. (3) Personal property tax receipt (Jackson County residents only). How much will it cost to put my boat on the lakes? Boat permit (all County lakes) = $24, County residents Boat permit (Lake Jacomo) = $42, non-residents Boat Permit (Longview/Blue Springs only) = $24, residents/non-residents Combo permit (personal watercraft only) = $90, residents/non-residents Motor permits (all County lakes) = $1.80 per horsepower for the first 10 hp, then .70 cents per horsepower thereafter. 2007 One-day ramp permit fees these are for all watercraft types and horsepowers = $17 per day. Do you have to be a Jackson County resident to obtain a dock space? No. Which lake is the largest? Lake Jacomo with 970 acres of water. Longview Lake has 930 acres of water. Blue Springs Lake has 720 acres of water. What is the temperature of the lake? It varies, during the summer months ranging between 64-90 degrees, call the marinas for the most accurate temperature reading. Swimming is only allowed at Blue Springs Lake Beach and Longview Lake Beach or off your boat, if anchored, while wearing a lifejacket. Who needs a fishing permit? Missouri residents under the age of 65 and over the age of 16. Out of state seniors must have a permit. There is no additional permit required by JCP&R for fishing in our lakes. When are the lakes stocked? Frequency is based on the carrying capacity and the fishing pressure of the lake. This is determined by and stocking is done by the Missouri Department of Conservation (816) 356-2280. Where is Bow Fishing allowed on your lakes? Longbow or crossbow fishing is permitted north of Colbern Road (Lake Jacomo and Blue Springs Lake) during statewide season. JCP&R archery permit required. Is hunting allowed in any of your parks? JCP&R does have managed hunts in Fleming Park. The Missouri Department of Conservation (816) 356-2280 has dates and rules. Where are the campgrounds and can we reserve sites? Advance reservations at Lake Jacomo, Blue Springs Lake and Longview Lake campgrounds. Contact the Permit and Reservation Office at (816) 503-4805 for further information regarding fees and current space availability for each location. Do we have to reserve a shelter to use it? It is highly recommended. If another party has already reserved the shelter, that person has exclusive use of the shelter. Make your reservation by calling (816) 503-4805. Reservations made 10 days prior to usage date ensures shelter cleanliness and readiness. Which parks have playground equipment? (1) Fleming Park at Blue Springs Lake shelters B&F - full playgrounds (2) Fleming Park at Lake Jacomo shelters, 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 11, 12 - swing sets only. Where are the mountain biking trails?
