Jackson County Road Projects 2007

Jackson County Public Works Engineering Division has released a list of road and bridge projects for 2007:

  • Widening of Woods Chapel Road between I-470 and Liggett Road is expected to be bid later this year. Jackson County is managing this project, is partnering with Lees Summit, and will receive federal funds for the construction.
  • Widening of RD Mize Rd. from Eureka to Necessary to be bid in 2007. Jackson County is managing the project and is partnering with the City of Independence.
  • Widening of Truman Road from Missouri 291 to Vista to be bid in 2007. Jackson County is partnering with the City of Independence, with Independence awarding the construction contract and Jackson County providing construction management and inspection services.
  • Replacement of the Courtney Atherton Bridge near the Little Blue Valley Sewer District Treatment Plant to begin construction in May of 2007.
  • Design for the Widening of 135th Street between Missouri 150 and Holmes is slated for bid in late 2007. Jackson County is managing the project and is partnering with the City of Kansas City.
  • Widening of Liggett Road to three lanes from Blue Springs to the Lake Jacomo Spillway, slated to begin in May 2007. Jackson County is receiving federal funding on this project.
  • Widening of Botts Road from Missouri 150 to the Grandview city limits, to begin late in 2007. Jackson County is managing the project and partnering with the City of Kansas City. (Both the Liggett and Botts Road projects are being designed in-house.)

Jackson County is also managing and partnering with Kansas City on the following projects which will begin design activity sometime in 2007:

  • Intersection of Blue Ridge and Wornall
  • Intersection of Lees Summit Road and Gregory
  • Longview Road - Hickman Mills to Orchard, and Blue Ridge to Spring Valley
  • Kenneth Road Bridge over the Blue River
