Can I pay all my taxes by one check? Yes. However, you will receive only one receipt back with each account listed on it, even if your are paying for more than one owner. (example: your account along with your child's or your parent's account in one check). Individual receipts must be requested at the time of payment. What type of payments do you accept? You may pay by cash, check, money order, cashier's check, certified check or Discover Novus. Discover Novus will add a service charge to your credit card statement. This fee is from $3.00 to $25.00 based on the amount of the taxes paid. Who do I make my check out to? Make checks out payable to "Manager of Finance". This is a State agency, not a county department. Contact the County Counselor's office at (816) 881-3355 and ask for Land Trust. I received two bills; one for my house and one for my car. Am I being double taxed? No. The levy and percentage of assessed value for personal property (vehicles, boats, etc) may differ from the levy and percentage of assessed value on real estate (land and improvements). Therefore, separate bills are always mailed for the different types of accounts. However, each bill will disburse payment to the same individual agencies.
