The County serves the needs of its citizens in many ways. We organize these primary duties and responsibilities by department. There are 14 Executive branch departments that report to the County Executive. Legislative branch staff, such as the Legislative Auditor and County Clerk, report to the County Legislature. Judicial branch divisions report to the Jackson County Circuit Court. Other offices and staff report to the Prosecutor, and the Sheriff. The Jackson County Sports Authority and Jackson County Election Board are appointed by and report to the Governor.
