Jackson County Constructing Futures Program

Through Jackson County Constructing Futures, we seek to address 3 crucial issues - 1 home at a time:
  • Homelessness
  • Unskilled and/or unemployed individuals
  • Vacant houses
The program entails remodeling long vacant houses, providing on-the-job training to members of the community who may be unskilled in a specific trade and/or have struggled with securing employment to do construction work, and giving a family who has struggled with homelessness a new place to call home.

"This program is all about changing lives," said County Executive Mike Sanders, when the keys to the first Jackson County Constructing Futures home were presented to Barbara Nelson and her 2 daughters in April of 2009.
