Don't Just Toss It In The Trash
Got some leftover building materials from a recent remodeling or other project? Is it just taking up space? Your unused building materials can still be of use to someone else.
Don't put those materials in the trash. Someone else can use them. You can donate your old, but still-usable building materials through the Habitat ReStore program operated by Habitat for Humanity, the nonprofit organization that has built 225,000 homes around the world for low-income families.
The local ReStore is located at:
Habitat for Humanity ReStore
4701 Deramus Avenue
Kansas City, Missouri 64120-1101
Across the country, Habitat ReStore retailers sell donated, good-quality used and surplus building materials at a fraction of retail prices. Proceeds from ReStores help local Habitat for Humanity affiliates fund the construction of Habitat houses within the community.
With your donation, you will receive a tax-deductible receipt. Donating building materials to an organization like Habitat for Humanity is the better, more earth-friendly option to letting these materials wind up in a landfill.
